• Take a flexible measuring tape (such as a sewing tape measure).

• Place it behind your child's head, with the tape measure running just behind the ears.

• Measure the distance from one temple to the other, following this curve.

• This measurement corresponds to the ideal length of the cord.

If you don't have a measuring tape, you can use a shoelace or a piece of ribbon, placing it in the same way, and then measure its length with a ruler.
